I do not think so becuase that is a land crab, i have an aquatic one, pluss the body is not that brown color it looks like his legs.

I think it could be a marbled/panther crab, Parathelpusa pantherina, from the Matano lake system in Sulawesi. Do you know where it was imported from?

This seems to be the adult patterning:

Also, check page 5 of this PDF.

I'm not sure but I work right next to the petland that I got it from, I will ask the guy who orders the livestock. That petland is awsome because it's not corperate, and has nothing to do with petland, they just kept that name so they get mor ebuisness.

It is of an asian origin and it is fully aquatic. That's all the guy knew he said that he searched the whole web for answers. He said that when he calls the next to order more fish he will ask for the scientific name, he also said that it is a very rare crab "one of those things you see once in blue moon".

I was also able to get some good pictures of him.

Awesome!! Was he expensive? Wish I had space, I'd love a crab one day. Thanks for sharing!

Lovely crabs, here's my guy! But sadly, no longer with us!

I guess not very expensive $19.99, which in my book is cheap. The only problem that I have with it is that it keeps cutting my plants.

turns out it's gone now, somehow it got out
