Got this at petco and all I know is that it's called a South African Cichlid but I want to know the name for this exact fish because I was wondering if there are any other fish that are compatible with this fish.

Looks to be a south american cichlid. Vieja family, probably a synspilum.

Looks like a vieja family cichlid apperars to have some ich on fins and head in one pic but could just be blemishes. The plant is a hornwort I think.

Could be but kind of a wide leaf to match most hornworts
