The 12" death syndrome is for Scombs. Not Tats. There's been pics posted of a 16-18" Tat.

The Adipose fin was a dead give away on this fish. The black and red blend. Armatus have a very bright colored fin with a very define line where the 2 colors meet.
Good luck getting him big, most people give up when faced with the slow growth rate and get something different. Would be nice to see someone dedicated enough to get one big.
