ID this "Oscar"...photos inside...

Please help me ID this Oscar. He was in the Red Tiger/Albino Oscar tank at Petsmart. The girl at Petsmart says he's a Red Tiger (even though all the other Red Tigers in the tank Smaller, the same size, or larger were orange and black). He's roughly 2 1/2" long.

What do y'all think? Thanks in advance for any and all help and/or suggestions. And thanks again for this great forum.

Normal juvenile oscar coloration. As for it being red or red tiger, I couldn't say, haven't ownd an oscar in years.

I seen one that look like that and they called it a wild Oscar

Sometimes that particular pattern is passed off as "zebra" Oscar, but as stated before just a juvi pattern that will soon turn "normal"

Thanks guys. I guess I was thrown off by the fact that all the other fish in the tank (smaller, same size, & larger) all had the same kind of coloration as adults (black and orange).

i would have to go with red tiger oscar,cos he looks alot like one of mine did as a juvi,

Over here they are just called tiger oscars.
