:WHOA: Way to jump into the Payara family with a Kaboom Lol

Waited several years now for these and I checked all my lfs yesterday and they still have nothing. I think $40 from tfd is a ok price so I'm not letting this season pass me up and wait another two year before they import them again.

Wondering why. Some states in US have plentiful of Armatus while some states, even a Tats is considered quite rare?

Are there differences in terms of ruling?

It depends on the weather conditions in each state, As well as the knowledge that each LFS withholds. Most LFS know jack **** about most "Specialty" fish such as the one I'm getting my Tat from which they don't know what a Tat is when I asked them. Also depends on season too, July seems to be the most popular time yet for Payara I just have to wait till next year to see if July will still be as plentiful in Payara as this year. Also the importers that our LFS order fish from our from rivers where Payara are one of the main catches and food sources hence less Payara for us. So there is plenty of things that come into play when it comes to getting rare exotic fish such as these.

Thot there are supplier like Infinite, Shark and aquascape, like as and when, anytime, they are ready to ship?

In SG, before this June/July boom, I have emailed all the 3 suppliers above with no reply. Even emailed one supplier in South America, also no reply.

Thot in US, you can just drive down to these supplier and bag them on the spot??

Those still order from other South American wholesalers and it is a rare occasion when you find the wholesalers with Payara. Places like Infinite,Shark, and aquascape are not suppliers.

it's all about demand.
The demand for the exotic and rare isn't exactly high here in Singapore, though it is starting.

And the fish is a tat.

There are still people keeping these(many are non-forum members), I am quite surprised, but of course, the popularity cannot be compared to arowana, discus, goldfishes etc.

If people actually knew about Payara in most states, This would be one of the most popular fish in the United States.
