Remember SMALL pieces!!

Its just his first day so dont be worried if he doesnt eat. I would keep your tank lighjts off to help settle him as well.Though truthfull all three rays I have had they all ate while acclimating in the box!

Keep feeding him what he eats untill he gains some weight but try to get him off of ghost shrimp as soon as possible as I hear they have little nutritional value.

Is it a male or female? I would assume a retic at that size must be close to being mature enough to get it on!

Oh yeah you can get anything huh? Why dont you get some of those elusive montoro retics to show us!

redtail you are still learning ALOT by the past few threads you have so please make sure what you say is at least some what coherent. Hell Im still new to stingrays and I only posted cause I was 90% sure it was a retic, especially after seeing his tail.

Also wouldnt a fresh, soft, piece of dead worm be easier to eat then a ****ing frozen fish?!

then i guess i will have too huh?

and take a chill pill will ya? because i tryed a nighcrawers for three days to four days sitting at the bottom and my stingray didn't eat. soon as you put frozen silversides in ther the fish will start to melt imedately. It was going after it at before it even hit the bottom.

well it was the same as this one, sorry if i got it worng, but i know it is the same what Zoo york got it. the guy jeff at my lfs said it is one of the rarest. but i didn't want it until i had a little more room.

if you left un-eater night crawlers in your tank for 3-4 days no wonder you are having trouble keeping you fish alive

if the retic is eatting river/ghost shrimp well then keep feeding him/her that for a few days to fattern him/her up a bit then start on other food

live blood worm should be good to

but as the ray is a little bit skinney just give it what it want for now

lol :D

Jeff is telling you porkies. The stingray posted here is a reticulata, and it's one of the most common, not the rarest. A motoro is also one of the most common, and there is no such thing as a montoro retic.

Zoo - yes what T1 said, give it what it wants to eat until it's nice and full and settled in, then start trying it on other foods, don't starve it too long though, rays have high metabolism.

nice pick up on the ray he will fatten up nice
