ID This Sunfish!

Well, the fleshy continuous median fins, extremely short tail, beak-like mouth, and overall drab coloration are dead giveaways.

i disagree, color can play big roll in the id of a fish. why would you show the fish in black and white if color doesn't play a roll?
 
Have you been following this subforum lately? There have been some ID threads in which overemphasis has been placed on color. While color is a useful ID tool, this fish (and many others) can be identified without it.

so if i show you a pic of a northern and western long ear in back and white you will be able to tell me for certain witch one is witch? how about a western and Eastern dollar sunfish will you be 100% serten wich is wich?
