In post #42 I was quoting Le Patron in reference to his derailing comment. It's up to Sandtiger to confirm the ID of this fish.

I will add that Amazon sells the petereson's guide mentioned for only $12.92!
It's a great investment. http://www.amazon.com/Field-Guide-F...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1232730801&sr=1-1

I've found this at chain bookstores for about $15.00 if you don't want to pay online.

OOOOO i stand corrected, and Wrong as well i guess :0) it wont be the first time. Thanks for clarifying that for me LOL

nope i cant gonna play these games

This is not a game MT, its a learning experience. I don't know what you think I'm trying to pull but I assure you my intentions are only to help others...those who want to properly ID fish, obviously you don't want to do that. That's fine, I don't care. I do find it funny that you pride yourself as such an expert who can out ID fish better than all of us or the DNR but refuses to attempt a B&W sunfish but whatever. If you're afraid of getting it wrong don't be, you've been getting most of your fish wrong anyway and if you use the key you're bound to get it.

Come on people, this isen't that difficult. Teleost has given you all a great hint toward the ID of this fish. As others have pointed out it has three anal fin spines meaning it is in the Lepomis or Enneacanthus genus. Thats 15 species and longear has already been eliminated.
