Caught this now fishing in Lake Erie and can't figure out whether it's a green sunfish or a Warmouth. Operculum spot was black with a bit of red at the back and eye was red if that helps.

Awesome! First time I've ever seen one in person let alone caught them, managed 4 so far in the 8-9 inch and 1 pound range and they're still hitting! They're such good fights too! Does anyone know why the PFBC has them listed as endangered in pa? I know they aren't endangered in ohio so is it just because of their small range in pa?
Caught one last one tonight so totaled out at 5 of them plus 23 other gigantic fish, but this isn't the fishing thread so I won't go into that here

Out of curiosity what is the minimum tank size for an adult? I've got a 30 long sitting in my garage that I was planning on setting it up for a green sunfish in he fall but if Warmouth don't get much bigger they're more appealing to me.
