This is just a guess because I'm very stumped also,

CK, I use to have a colony several yrs ago and lost them all to a faulty heater...big time lesson learned. The males are some of the most beautiful of all Vics, simply a rainbow of colors but the females ( at least mine ) looked nothing like spadoc's fish.

FYI, the BFF's are a peaceful fish, way, way, down the list of aggressive Vics. If you can find some...let me know!
