Yeah I'm thinking about it... There are pureJDs in the tank as well, but I agree these guys don't have the Texas shape. Also, until just recently they looked exactly like the juvenile chancho in this link.

i know that's unlikely to be what they a cross of but they looked exactly like that for months.
So Texas and JD cross is the best guess?

That looks like h. cyano to me. A pretty nice one too. Its a typical body shape and color. Not a hybrid. I had one just like it that grew to 10''.
Well I went back to the store today and figured out what this guy is. There were a bunch of new ones in that tank. Turns out they are F1 TexasXParrots. The guy who bred them was there because he just brought a bunch more in. He was trying to create a pearled parrot fish. I got the one in the picture because I think he's going to turn out pretty. Most the others his size had little to no pearling. The reason there was such a variety is because they are hybrids.
Well like I said, I talk to the local guy who bred them, they are TexasXparrot. There was even one in another tank labeled that, but I didn't recognize they were the same because the hybrids of that cross came out a variety of ways in regards to looks.
Those are absolutely h. Cyano. There is this greenish variation and a more purple variation. Just depends where you collect them. I believe these are found through out Texas as the Rio Grand perch.
