Ok. So after it was brought to my attention that my nigers I got weren't actually nigers I actually looked at them...lol..

Now that I took the time to look and think and explore options I am left with a few possible fish. Ill start with the possible so I think they are in order that I think they are. Then move on to some close detailed pics of the fish I have.

Can you get a picture of the adipose straight in, I see differences with it in the pictures provided of other species. I don't think it is the species right above your specimen. Adipose on that one looks smaller and more rounded. Eye place, ent also looks differently to me, your specimen looks like the eyes are closer to the tip of its nose compared to the species posted above your fish.

Taking more looks the first to don't look correct to me. To me it is narrowed down to the third and fourth species provided. Doras carinatus and hassar orestis.

The dorcil is a solid brown. No black or white makings like the hassar orestis. Not that color can be 100% to confirm if but a thought I had.

Ill try for more pics. To get pics I have to catch it then either hold it or put it in the box like I did.

Now I am leaning on the doras carinatus. Looking though them all again. Then I just googled d. Carinatus and found an almost exact match.

Hey, man! Sorry. I have been away. All I can say too this is unlikely a Trachydoras or a Nemadoras. But IDK the difference between Hassar and Doras. Never looked at smaller Doradidae in any depth. It looks like you by now know lots more about these lil' dudes.

I'd post on PCF too to get better surety. If you aren't a member and don't want to join, you can ask me to post it.

thebiggerthebetter thebiggerthebetter you can post it up for me. I have been a busy person myself. With still lots to do. More tanks to get and set up. Fish to get and others to sell. All while working and finishing my basement. Then now that it is spring I got a few tons of dirt to move around along with a nice honey do list for the yard.
