If it was a reef before, why not keep it salt but do a low tech FO or FOWLR, plenty of sw fish fit the description you gave, and if it's not a reef you can keep some fish in a FO/FOWLR that you can't in most reefs
Well i still have skimmer and stuff but dont have lights or sump. Believe me this is not an easy decision. I thought of getting a a couple of smaller triggers
