Ideas on stocking a 125 with my first Bichir

You can abbreviate Endli, that's what everyone does here and it's less letters than saddled. I just think if you use saddled and marbled you might get people talking about different fish. ;) I always get the terms for the Palmas species mixed up. You could just say P. Palmas and Polli for those guys. I doubt anyone here would give you crap just saying Palmas for Palmas Palmas even though there are a few Palmas species... Anyway I wasn't trying to give you crap, just trying to limit confusion.

Reports are mixed on Del activity but I think that they are on the more active end of the spectrum. But Sens and Pollis are pretty consistently active ones from what I've read. Endlis are not but they are big so you see them anyway LOL

If you got ropefish you should get at least 3, although mine do snuggle with the other bichirs too. If I knew more about the cichlid stocking I'd be tempted to say you could do 3 ropes and 3 polys... especially with good filtration. Who else can chime in on that?

And yeah, Wet Spot was going to contact COTA directly supposedly... crossing my fingers, toes, and eyeballs.

Also, you might have to wait for a certain poly like a Polli or Palmas Palmas but I'm sure they'll come around relatively soon. It's just a matter of how patient you can be. I have seen Palmas Palmas (TR and WC) a lot at Wet Spot. And actually the WC Polli I got is from them - it was mislabeled as a TR Palmas Palmas, which is weird for them. They had a listing of WC Pollis for a month or so in their holding facility and the listing just went away... so I had thought that they lost or sold them but maybe they just got mislabeled after all.

PS - Wet Spot updates their stock list every Friday. :)

Oh snap. Keep me informed too, nice to have a contingency plan

They could be seasonal, I'm getting nothing over here. Also start following people lol :p

Thanks again for the tips. I'd like to consider a large poly but if the endli is likely to eat/damage the senegals I'm not sure I'd want to risk that. I definitely want at least 1 senegal and a del. The polli would be optional if I went with a larger one but I also want to stay on the less aggressive side of things (i know each fish is different but just in general terms) and it was suggested the endli might be a bit large for a senegal. I really like the ornates as well but again, large and seems to be a bit aggressive as well.

As for the hets, it looks like I "MIGHT" be able to rangle a group together locally to order from cota. We'll see. Not holding my breath. I'll still be interested/watching what wetspot has to offer though

Hey poly experts - is a full grown Teug too big for a 125? WS has tank raised ones.

THanks. I'll defer to you guys. I definitely want a senegal and del. Third is an option. Would like a larger one but not at the risk of the smaller guys. The smallest non poly fish in the tank will be rainbow cichlids

Teugs are a larger upper jaw but they are not as aggressive. If they don't get too big for your tank (that's what I don't know) they might be a cool option for you.
