I was thinking of something of that nature too. It doesn't even look like a Mayan, let alone a Festae! LOL

There is barely any blotch on the back and I still have yet to see the properly defined 'Y'.

Additionally... In the picture, is that a Flowerhorn next to it? Seems like you got yourself two hybrid fish... Or are we now going to say that it is a Midas/Red Devil?

BTW, to the OP, in pic 3 and 7 you can see a Festae swimming with my Mayan.

Anyone that thinks that's a Festae needs to get their eyes checked. I'm not sure how anyone could even confuse the 2.

Nor will it get to be that big.....not in that overcrowded tank. C. Uropthalmus doesn't get that large regardless.....10" is a HUGE one. (There are reports of Mayans getting to be over 15".....I've never seen one, either live or a photo)
