Sorry its so dark but didn't wanna scare them with a flash. Here's the female on her new batch of eggs, and male EBJD resting in his flower pot cave.

Why don't you like sponge filters? That's all I use on my fry tanks. Can't think of a single problem I've ever had with them...

Guess it's not that I don't like them, just always looking for diy ways for more filtration. And I tend to over-feed my fry.

Understandable. In my larger tank for fry I use a powerhead hooked to a sponge and a spray bar. It works awesome. I am currently working on bgjdXbgjd myself. I'm stoked!

Spawning must be extremely exhausting! My EBJD acts like he's been through a war! Just been laying in his flower pot since the deed was done yesterday.

I think it probably is harder on them than other jd's because they are geneticaly weaker. Our male actualy got the the crap kicked out of him by our female and after several spawns he died. When they were lip locking she tore his top lip off talk about rough sex. Hope your male fairs way better.

Oh wow...that's terrible! Mine seems to be fine now. Back to helping watch over the eggs. He didn't get beat up at all, just was very lethargic. Must be getting old! Back in his "prime" him and his lady would spawn almost every 2 weeks with me removing the eggs and he never seemed to skip a beat.
