Identifying little cichlid

Yup.. One of the things that makes growing out a cichlid interesting.

looks like a small vieja, to me it looks like a little fenestrata or zonatus, but only time will tell
 
Love it.! They look so alike when small..and here I thought it looks like a hartwegi. Lol

It could easily be hartwegi, bifasciatta, melanurus, fenestrata, zonatum, or any of that clade at this point.
There are 8 valid recognized species in Vieja at this point, before the genus was broken up, there were about a dozen more considered Vieja.
Here's a young bifasciatus, just little older.
