That is part of the problem. Killing a fish is not the same in the courts as killing a dog or cat. We only want to save the cute animals. If someone keeps a dog in a kennel full of crap, people call animal control. If someone keeps a fish in a tank chalk full of nitrates, no one says a thing.

That is a bunch of BS a fish is an animal just as much as a dog or cat he should be charged with felony animal abuse !

:WTF: (first post with that smilie in it on this thread! ) was that guy thinking? Obviously the fish meant alot to his girlfriend if that is what he chose to destroy.

I like how this thread addresses the bias people have against smaller animals. There is no difference in the significance of the life of an oscar and the life of a dog, in my opinion.

Not sure that in todays society they are the same. If they were, then feeder poodles would be available to feed to the larger breeds.

I guarentee this would have been a huge story if the guy stomped a puppydog to death.
