Not everyone is dedicated to their fish as some of the members here and that is perfectly alright. I would listen to my wife’s suggestions and would most likely go saltwater myself.

So how many of you actually have a girl? Exactly. :grinyes:

Why didn't the guy just tell her to set up her own tank if she didn't like his?

My husband makes "suggestions" about what I should do with my tanks, but I would never do a major change (like FW to SW) just cause he wanted it. :screwy:

I don't keep girls anymore, only fish. Fish are easier, not as noisy, don't eat as much, and are not as expensive. Besides, you can rent a girl but you can't rent fish.

How do you "rent" a girl? And I spend more money yearly on my fish than I do on myself (like 10 times as much!) so I don't think I'm more expensive than my fish ;)

"Renting" a girl is one of the oldest professions.

it just seems to me like the easier idea would be to get a cheaper smaller tank to make saltwater, maybe even used. a 135 gallon is awesome for his freshwater monsters, and most likely what she wants is a reef tank with nice colorful fish. i would have moved my monster tank somewhere else, bought her a 46 bow tank and made it reef, and forgot about it. too much money in giving stuff away and converting it.

That was a joke. Renting girls is almost as expensive as having a girlfriend, I would imagine. ;)

So a little update on this story....I went in again to the lfs to see if they would give me the pair of cobalts for the 55 i am getting, since I go there every day and they got them for free, and it turns out that the whole collection that the guy rought in is going to be $20 a fish, whether I want the Cobalt or the Shovelnose, as long as you can prove you have the space for the fish. They are set to make $120 minimum off this guy. This sucks. Why can't I know people like him?
