wouldn't you know by 13"?
Here's the story on the Dovii.
The lady at the lfs said the Dovii was orginally purchased at 2" by a long time regular customer and raised in a large 440 gallon community CA tank. The guy had to get rid of his tanks and gave all the fish to them. He told her he cohabitated fine with the others and never bothered anyone. The lfs had him for a week before I came in and she kept referring to him as a big baby and gentle giant even putting her hand in and petting him. After observing him for a couple of days, I believe her.
I know what you guys are going to think because my tank is much smaller than the other guy's 440 but today I took the biggest Jag out of the 265 and put in the 13" Dovii. So far he just swims around checking everything out.
Sometimes you just have to take chances to see what will work. The cichlids in jeopardy are a 10" Jag, 6-7" Grammodes and 4.5" Festae. They have plenty of get away places if the Dovii snaps.
Wish me luck.
