I was just reading where someone's take broke because it wasn't level.

I have a 125G that is not sitting level. It's in the correct stand, it's just not level. It's probably a good .5 - 1 inch lower in the front.

So I need to fix this asap? right?

My stand is very pretty.. Shims will make this thing look horrible... ideas?

Interested in answer as well, I had a 100g leak out on me not long ago. It was not sitting level, never thought that could be a reason why. ?????

definitely fix it asap. Unevenness isn't a problem with smaller tanks, but with anything larger than a 55g, not being level will put uneven pressure on the glass and seems, very likely resulting in a rupture. It ain't pretty or fun, but it is definitely important!

I learned a Good lesson about this.

i had a rather small tank about 30G and it was at a bit of a slant.

the water puts more pressure toward the slant.

i don't know the exact science of it. but i know that my tank cracked at the seam once when someone bumped it. Pretty hard bump but water was everywhere. Now this is after about a year of the tank being the same way (slanted).

i could tell that it was slanted when it was full.

now with a Bigger Tank it's worst. More weight and pressure towards the corners that are lower.

i would correct this asap.

IMO.

crap ..... seems like common sense. I wish I had known this before I came home to my fish frying on the bottom of the tank and my land lady's basement flooded

my 210 was off as well due to the carpet. i just used a bunch of regular wood shims to get it level. put them in when the tank was about half full. use a hammer. it wont look pretty but it will definately work.

put them in when youre doing a water change

Your in NJ huh? My friend just got an apt. and was not able to bring his tank because a tenant's tank broke and flooded the land lady's basement.

You didn't happen to live right off Rt.22, did you...lol
