and by the way is there a good cheap place to find bulk food?? i am having trouble finding a cheap reliable source and would rather order it in than buy it in a store
I get my 40 and 50 pound bags of Silver Cup fish food at the local CO-OP, farm store or grange; look them up in the phone book in your area. The cost of the 40 percent protein trout food is in the range of $.75 to a $1.00 per pound. There are several sizes of pellets and they come in floating and sinking varieties. My large Clown Knife in the back yard 2400 gallon aquarium fish tank race 4 feet up to the surface to gulp down the large floating pellets about 1/4"-3/8" in diameter. They tried to compete with the 40 pound Pacu eating the 1/4" sinking pellets but got beaten up. Of all my fish in the heated outdoor aquarium, the only fish reluctant to take the dry pellets are the Tiger Shovelnose Catfish; but they pick away at the food anyway.

The food will keep a long time in its original bag stored in a 30 gallon metal garbage can. It should not be sealed in a coffee can or tight lid jar for more than a few days and of course kept dry and free of moisture.

It is not advisable to feet trout chow to Koi as it is very ‘hot”, that is it is high in protein. You might find your local fish store bagging up trout food for Cichlids and the like; they get about $5.00 a pound and this might be a good way to sample the food without investing in a 50 pound bag. If you are stuck with a bag of trout food, the Crows and Raccoons love it.

i might not be able to build the 7500 per structural engineer but a 2400 i can do hes coming over this week to have a look and hopefully he says that the 7500 is good to go

I used a double liner with a water barrier on my garage 1600 gallon aquarium. This did not work! Within a week I had big Pacu wedged between the two liners and chewing on the last one up against the cherry wood timber wall.

This link to my web site might give you some ideas of the jumbo aquarium process I went through the last few years.
