You are very perceptive “Fella”, that is often what I do for fish fanciers. Sometimes a year or so later when they are over the rough spot and back on an even keel I set them up again with one of the many unused aquariums in my storage yard.

There was a time when I did swim with my fish and other aquatic friends but that was many years ago. Presently I am looking for a volunteer to sit on a chair in my 2400 gallon aquarium and feed the pacu hot dogs; so far no takers.

are hot dogs really healthy for em??
arent they too high in fat?

Although I believe a predatory aquarium fish could live exclusively on hot dogs I would not want to try it. I feed all of my monster fish a variety of food including trout pellets which every fish I have will take although some under great protest. Many of my tropical aquarium fish are given to me by people who have been feeding them goldfish exclusively. They are tired of the continual cost of feeder fish, the frequent trips to the local fish store and the fact that the goldfish bring disease into their tanks. I feed a lot of “catfish nuggets” which are really catfish bellies; locally about $2.00 a pound and then lots of beef heart at $1.39 a pound. Sometimes I get all the fish trimmings from the fish market for free; but it is a lot of work separating out the edible portions.

so my pond is gonna be a timber framed liner pond with out a viewing window in it i am gonna wait till we build our dream house on our land out in the country but untill then (5-6 years) i am not going to build anything permanent i already own the land just have to save to build what we want and then my brothers concrete experience will come into play and i will have a large viewing window maybe more than one

that is one sweet setup.. always wanted something like that in my garage so i can buy monster fishes without thinking what i would do with it in one year when it gets too big.

hey ted i just made arangements to adopt a large albino channel cat it has begun before to long my big pond will be full and my wallet empty

This is a photo of: my Albino Channel Catfish about 18 months after I got him when it was only 3” long; it now measures 25”. They grow very fast and are good feeders. They are active swimmers and spend a lot of time in the mid water section of my aquarium. They take food from the surface or the bottom. They are easily spooked and I have had them die in the net of apparent heart failure.
