im feelin 10' length x 6' width and 4' high .. 3-4 peacock bass a couple largemouth bass a clown knife and 2 black arowanas... no idea if that would even work would be epic though

yeah, I'd rather keep the room but you said just one tank. BTW the room that all my tanks are in is 12'x 10.5' with a 3'x5' closet.
I would do a plywood tank, probably somewhere around 8x3x3. Build a wet/dry and stock it with a RTG or higher grade aro, have a ray or two and either some cichla or widebars.. Maybe both
