You can do your own DIY pottery decoration. Its not necessary to buy those thing, you can improvise. Example is to get a clay pot or a an old and unused vase and create a little chip or crack for openings.

not my style but i could see native tank people going for it.

I have a pottery studio.

I made this by hand, and pre-broke the pot before firing. This is so there was no sharp edges and the glaze could entirely cover the pot. I broke and glazed it with the intentions of making it looks like this.

If you want to go buy ugly orange terra-cotta or mass-manufactured pottery to put in the tanks, I guess you could.. but I was curious if people would like custom-made pottery specifically intended for aquarium use..

Including breeding caves, decorative caves, and pleco breeding caves..

Trying to mix aesthetic with functional, because IMO broken terra-cotta is ugly.

Don't really like it. I don't like terra cotta too much either but i think it can look nice in some tanks.

that sort of decor, really could work, but it would have to blend in with the rest of the decor, and i'd rather grow the algae on it myslef, rather than have fake paint.

The pots pictured have real algae on them, with an algae-looking glaze underneath. It's hard to differentiate the fake algae glaze from true algae..

I think this could look a lot better if the over all composition of the tank was a little but more thought out... I like the second piece a lot better then the first.... I do really like the finish though to be honest... I like my tanks to have the most natural feel possible. Keep up the work and lets see what else you can make up
