The possibilities are limitless when you have your own studio. Making squigly snakes that intertwine to build an aquarium high type effect, would be something i would make for myself if i had a studio! Great work and there is deff a market for custom anything! like my idea oddballs idea, there are two potential orders right there and i'm sure others would LOVE to have you make them something!

Thanks for the input everyone..

Just trying to get ideas.. This piece is a trial piece that I made about 6 years ago while I was still in high school.. It's made every tank move with me, and is one of my favorite decorations. It's not only functional, but looks very natural and blends well with the environment compared to a pot not designed for aquaria use.

Oddball - I can definately make those forms, up to about 2 ft tall.. (kiln limits my max sizes).. I can put the breaks anywhere you'd like, and can glaze almost every color except deep reds..

Not only will I be attempting to produce a wide variety 'sunken pottery', but there will be a number of other functional aquarium designs I hope to work on..

such as 'Domes' ranging in a wide variety of sizes, functional for breeding caves for shelles and apistos, but glazed and sized out to fit specifications.

as well as "half-logs" and "full-logs" with a variety of styles and colors with holes and openings custom made to fit every possible situation. Also viable for reptile shelters.. Dishwasher safe! (Glaze never comes off.. so if you didn't want to scrub algae, just put in the dishwasher..)

Custom feeding dishes, with pet names imprinted for every type of critter from lizards to fish, and cats to dogs.. How many people do you know have an algae feeding cup with your prized plecos name imprinted onto the side of it? (ChubChub's feeding Dish - Spirulina only!)

Lots of ideas to throw around..

I am wondering if my 'example' piece doesn't really capture the concept I am going for.. perhaps if you saw the pieces in person, as most my guests rave over how natural and aesthetic they look in all my tank designs..

I would be interested in one or 2 I need to get on my computer and see a better shot but I was gonna do a pot or 2 in my tank

Heres those pots in a few more tank shots.. they were also in my saltwater tank at one point.. and I am not exactly sure how terra-cotta would hold up, let alone look in a reef.

Can you tell which shots have less algae cover on the pots? This is where you can see the underlyin 'algae' effect glaze..

Any chance of replicating african drift wood? If you could make large pieces I would def. be interested.

I'd use them myself but I'd rather recycle my own broken pottery. I think many people over at AC might like them though.

Would be interested in large driftwood types myself and looking for a cave type for a 10 inch dragon goby.

Those second pics make them look way better. They do actually look pretty cool. i still would put any in my tank because I like the totally natural look.

Have you tried selling any on ebay to see what they would go for?

I think there would be a nice chunk of the hobbiest out there that would like those a lot.

ebay is a good idea post one up there and see what it goes for i bet you could get at least 10 probally more for it
