Fish will eat when they're hungry, and by hungry, I don't mean not eating for a day or two :grinno: As long as we make sure they're in healthy condition before we pull them off their favorite food source, it should be ok. Just don't starve them to the point of no return :grinno: Someone got to fold :ROFL::ROFL: Show them who's the boss :headbang2

Thats not true! My two NTT die out of starvation

Then there was something wrong with them or you didn't offer them enough kinds of food appropriate for them.

My tat also begs mid water for food.

my tat never ate live even with teacher fish.
but when i added a temensis into the tank,he started eaying shrimp aggressively.
i guess the tat was the most food competitive in the tank so thats why the tat started eating.

Little update.... On Sunday night I began getting worried about starving my Armatus.. They hadn't been fed for a week. They all looked really thin so I figured the time was right to snag the Rhaphiodon out of the pond and bring it upstairs to show the Armatus how to eat. He adjusted well Sunday night and by Monday morning it was eyeballing the surface waiting for food. Monday night I threw in a bunch of krill. The Rhaph ate 1/2 dozen pieces. Later that night I threw more in. The Armatus began charging the surface from the very bottom of the tank but would not bite. Last night tried the same. Instant charging but NO eating. I threw in a big piece of smelt for the Rhaph which it ate slowly due to the size. I strung up a piece of smelt on a fishing line and a hook with the barb clipped then straightened. Success!!!!! 3 out of the 5 Armatus enjoyed thier first pieces of smelt last night. The Krill trick failed for over a week. The fishing line with smelt failed for over a week. Throw a teacher fish in there and 2 days later........ BROKEN. :) I'll try to get pics tonight.... Wasn't ready last night. I really thought it would take all week before they ate.

Are they on smelt or krill?

Smelt. Thank god.... Krill would cost a small fortune. Had to be the smell...... I think they charged the krill cause of color but took the smelt cause of smell..... I'm gonna have to get a camera capable of video...LOL Feeding this pack is gonna get crazy. :)
