To quote Stephen King.
"See the turtle of mighty girth, apon his shoulders he holds the earth"

They sure are the most common turtle in the hood....seems every other day I see someone walking buy trying to sell the little hatchlings in those small clear containers.
I think under 4" is for educational purpose only, so watch out. Big brother may trick you. However, I do see a lot of those green hatchling in clear container for sale almost every part of the town, too

thats kinda cool. Never seen hatchlings for sale myself.
I don't know where these people get them from but every spring they seem to have them to sell to whoever wants them.I wonder if they know that selling them is illegal...maybe someone has a turtle mill.

Doesn't mean everyone knows things about turtles. I would think only those who collect or study them would know.

That's the point we're trying to get through to kittie Katt and book keeper...but then you got people like rock siding with them by implying ignorance isn't an excuse. I just think it's ridiculous to imply everyone across the U.S. should know everything about every animal. You aren't born with animal knowledge so it shouldn't be common sense

I wanted to know if she was an Indian. Don't think it's a big deal to ask

Aren't you her brother? Guess you can answer then.

Edit: just read the limerick thread, you're not the brother

I had noticed from past posts, she doesn't reside in N. America or anywhere close.

I think if you don't have any knowledge about wildlife, you shouldn't be interfering with it.

Nanana. When I said that, it was in the context of whether or not fish and game should get involved. Which I would say yes. Because she interfered with and probably killed an endangered protected creature, (if it is indeed endangered) not because she was obviously ignorant of what that creature is or was. I'll even say imo her intentions were not genuine, I think she cared more about making a cutsie video.

It's kind of like going fishing, you better know your species or you could end up in a lot of trouble; ignorance is no excuse. When it comes to children, parents who know better should be responsible.
