Illegal fish

In Latvia we have not illegal fish ! wanna change Australia to Latvia ? but in winter (from december to march) is cold ,till -32'C and if we have somethink illegal-WHO CARES,just give litle bit more money...Nova 8;712395; said:Just wondering if anyone can point me to a site that contains a list of fish that are illegal in Australia (pref. i spoke to my local aquarium supplier and he told me that there is a licensing system for most of the illegal fish problem is the license to keep noxious species is nigh on impossible to get shame cos i really want a SH, guess i'll have to stay content with my wolf cichlid. and as a side note thnk fnck Garrett didnt get his way he wanted to put more fish on the banned list including oscars WTF

Damn... I think if you want an arowana, saratoga is the best choice...its native.
But here in Sydney, JD, RD and I think jaguar cichlids are allowed... im sure about Saratoga, JD and Rds tho
Yep no Snakeheads in QLD either...I love them(giant ones!)and tiger shovelnose cats.....all ILLEGAL in QLD....Australia is trying to preserve their natural habitat..and I respect this...but if people were intelligent in respecting the fact that you cant just dump pets you dont want into the river systems...then it would be no issue...i think they should educate fish owners and maybe have a permit system for the more "problematic" fish...so they are aware of who holds them....they have a licence system for their OWN native reptiles...so you would think this would be the best way....and another avenue for the goverment to make money(always of interest!!!)

FoundU L(.)(.)KING for interest in an old GIANT Chinese Salamander I found near an
inactive airport where my father used to keep his Piper Cub back in the 50s.
This "accutely endanger" salamander actually swam on the surface of the water to
my location IN the water near the bank where my 5 month old chiuhua dog was
having her first swim frantically escaping a loose running dog. It popped its head
above the surface and pondered me -frozen in shock- for about 7 or 8 seconds then,
casually turned 90 degrees North to what is QUTE apparent, its lair I found on further
inspection. I was fishing there with my 16 Year old son. who I hadn't spent time w 4
over 10 years.
im thinking of WWII attendees using the airport brought some or one, back.
I asked my son to help me track it (plain trail of crustasion escretions indicating it eats
the whole body w shells on) and he responded, "I could spear it," so clearly, I could
use sum other help.
As it would be illegal to possess the salamander, I wonder if I could enlist FISH & GAME
(CA. state agency) to help?
