Well my company got bought out, new owner ONLY wants documented workers, sadly 2/3 are NOT, these guys have grown to be my family, I've worked with some of them 4+ years and drank a lot of cervacas with them.

Tomorrow we have an immigration lawyer, no papers no work. So sad, they didn't even get a days notice of losing their job, not to mention they are some of the hardest working people I've met, and its taught me a lot, they have taught me a lot about hard work. What can I do?

I think the old owner who hired then should give 2 weeks pay minimum....

In before the lock

Sorry, I don't feel sorry for them. The minute they crossed the border... everything they have done has been illegal. Meanwhile. I still don't have a job.

Edit:I didn't get a notice when I was losing my job to mexicans(Don't know if they were legal)

Thats sad to hear. Its very easy to dismiss them but a lot of them are hard working and are just trying to provide for their families.

Well they work for 15$ a day in Mexico, here they get more then triple that, but they bust ***. It's taken me years to learn their techniques. They came here to better their families life, not to **** over Americans, why do you think most companies import? Cheaper better labor.... Maybe if some of us worked harder.

Chris I 100% agree.

Dubya had it right: guest work program, naturalization needs to be in line according to current quotas per country.

US needs certain segment of immigrant workers. It would be much better if we regulate them. On one hand, it is impossible to deport 10-20 million people; on the other, amnesty is a slap in the face of people, often high tech workers that waited for years to get a green card, legally.

Too bad both sides of the debate are so entrenched in their positions that they can not compromise.

how many are there that are like that? Not many. Most have parents here. I do not like the dream act because they directly benefits from a crime. I am not calling for deportation, but rather they have to wait in line until the legal immigrants had their term.

Don't get me wrong the whole world cant flood in and you cant blame someone for wanting better - BUT just remember the Indians who lived here before us all didn't make us go through Ellis island or ask for any paperwork - so unless your native american or up north viking you would way more than likely not be here if it weren't for immigration - and the conquering and slaughtering in the beginning - but there needs to be some sort of comprimise - not many people will pick apples etc for 8-10 dollars an hour _ just ask your self if you would pick fruit and veggies and farm work in the hot sun fir that pay

Good for the new owner
