So, today i bought night crawlers, and I had a horrendous experience with them. Everytime i tried cutting it, i know it felt pain. So, Instead I boiled it. Then cut it up, only there was so much fecal matter coming out it seemed unsanitary to give to my fish. Is there any better way to feed my fish these, as I bought two pack of 20 night crawlers. I'd rather not use the slice and dice method

Maybe about 5-6 in
Some that would also be feeding are also about 1ft

But I'd say the average size is about 6 in

Did you pick them up at a bait shop? Also, how much were they. I would continue to cut and toss them into your tank. I never had any problems feeding earthworms to my fish. Only down side they can dirty up your water temporarily, but no problem.

Actually I picked them up at wal-mart. They were about 3 dollars a box.

I know its foolish, but I felt bad cutting one up. Is there a way to kill it without cutting it up alive, then slicing up afterward

try using scissors instead of mashing them with a knife lol, its faster and less gruesome.

Does anything squirt out if use scissors?

I seriously feel bad just cutting it up.
I tried slicing it with a knife and it just looked at me with it lil face like it was in pain

Face? What face? lol...
They squirt;)

im not calling you a bunny hugger or anything, but the worms don't feel the pain. they are very nutritious, and if you can't stomach cutting them up. then your fish go without the nutriants the worm gives, boiling them would cook alot of good things out.

your going to have to learn to kill it, or go without it.

try a razor blade, its a quick swipe and its cut clean, no squirting or squishing.
