reported to the fbi. see you in prison

You can buy red wigglers at a bait shop. They will be in better condition, lively and last longer. The quantity is more too. Just remember to keep them cool on the way home.

Store them somewhere cool too. Walmart does sell "Trout Worms" in the same cooler. They are smaller but still aren't as small as red wigglers but take a look at them anyway.

I am currently feeding meal worms and wax worms. Just shake off the shavings and put in the tank. You can find meal worms at Petco/Petsmart. I just remembered Petsmart sells red wigglers too(on the small side but look at them)

What about freezing them first then cut them up? I understand the whole not wanting them to feel pain and stuff. You get that open second where your brain goes... Hey doesn't that hurt...... Anywho try the freezer...

I'll deffinitely get some of the red wigglers then. I'll try my local petsmart, if not I think I can find a fishing shop.

Yeah, I'm not big on killing anything. I could cut up a dead animal as long as I didn't kill it first hand.

I'm set on trying the freezer option

Hey duuuuude...
I'm from California, you're making us look like pussys!!

MAN-UP and
look them dead in their eyes
er
EYE
and squeeze the frikken life outta that sukka and toss them pieces in the tank for food...

news flash!!!.....
fish devour worms and worm pieces all by themselves...been doing that for about a hundred million years now...

Oh yeah,
welcome to the food chain and
eat a few rare cooked, red meat steaks, it'll help you get over that killing thing...

Haha ^....

but yea, time to man (or woman) up. I don't use a knife or scissors, I hold the worm and squeeze down the length of it to get all the dirt out. Once that is complete I proceed to tear it into a few pieces just using my fingers, then into the tank. Although at this point all my fish can pretty much eat them whole...

The red wigglers @ petsmart was a saving grace for me. I have no issue with the sisscoring of earthworms, but don't like the added time involved in the preparation.

On a side note there is a freakin' totally awsome old sci-fi movie called Dune (Co-staring Sting from the band the police). Rent that movie and watch it, I guarantee that if you like sci-fi, you won't be disapointed. This will also solve you problem of feeling "sorry" for worms!

I collect mine in safe areas of the semi-wild and feed them whole. The dirt inside them should be suitable for consumption. If it's not, I say the worm isn't either.

I'm a total ***lord with that stuff too. I once released an entire package of overpriced earth worms to my inside tree pot because I felt bad after the first murder :) , I like earth worms and will save them from there burning side walk deaths whenever I come across an unfortunate fellow. Sooo intstead I buy the super worms and wax worms in bulk and then freeze them, they defrost nicely, and for me it makes me feel better.
