no problem. better safe than stinky. If you are gonna chop them up I would, as others have mentioned, milk them or squeeze the dirt out before you slice.

To the OP, man up...... I feed my fish worms all the time... I cut them in half and then cut more.

I agree with the squeeze them. I used to feed them to my bass in a bare bottom tank and he would poop lil dirt balls... and they were big enough to where my siphon didn't have enough power to suck them up

cichlids and bichir rip pieces off

And my pike likes to fold them like tacos and just swallow
