when i was stationed in virginia, i was pulled over for going 52 in a 25 zone-it was a sunday, i just got off midnites working in an ER, and had to get to work (for the Navy) in a few mins lol..

i went to court, the judge yelled at me, the cop that wrote me the ticket actually showed up and DEFENDED me lol.. i got off with a 180.00 fine..

hope you can come out as lucky as me! lol.. ive never been pulled over since...

waaaaaiit! i was fooled! this is an old post! crap.

Aparently in Virginia, if your gion 18mph over the speed limit, you face similar charges to a DUI ( 3,500$ + fees, and up to 1 year in jail) My court case is next month...

And there wasnt anybody on the freeway cept the mustang that flew by me. I guess the cop didnt see the mustang, just me...

try to get a calibration, thats says your thing was off one or two and they will drop it to 17 or 16 over and you won't get the harsh consiquences. if you need someone to do it let me know i have some connections. The might give you a speeding ticket and a faulty equipment charge but its a lot better than going to jail

I'm in VA as well and I've never gotten a ticket from a cop that I happened to see before hand. They actually hide in some of the damnedest places, I'm surprised they dont get stuck half the time. This is deffinately a communist state no matter how you look at it. The comments about proper representation are spot on. 2000 dollars for an attorney is a whole lot better than 40,000 in insurance over the next 25-30 years...

I doubt you will go to jail. Courts just want your money for stupid crap like that. Your wallet will learn its lesson.

Mannnnnnn I got another ticket.

This time in my 4x4 which i dont speed in, cuz that would suck down more Ga$ and its not a smooth ride...

he said I was goin 80 Mph... no way.... Maybe my bigger tires threw off my speedo ???

Maybe the cops in this communistwealth are just messin with all of us out-of-staters..?

Ha! I had the speedo checked and turns out i was goin more like 70mph, which is much better than 80...wee'l see in court later...

There was a cop parked on the sidewalk behind the shrubbery between the walkway and the street!!! No lights on at all!

Haha I've learned my lesson about speeding several times over...been pulled over about 12 times, 8 of those resulted in speeding tickets, one in a court summons....and hey, two tickets and the summons were in VA. Luckily the largest ticket I've ever had was like 180 bucks, which is a lot when you're in college living on 70 bucks a week. I've tried to slow down...its hard! I just like driving fast :p
