idk about 18 over. but I have two tickets from my past. one was 51 in a 25 and the other was 103 in a 55 both times it was a fine and 2 points. nothing else. hell insurance didn't even find out about the 103 ticket b/c I paid it about an hour after I got it. and it never got into public record. I think the law is now that if you get over 100 you get your privledges taken away on the spot.


Also I had a buddy that's brother was a cop and he said he would never chase a bike that was doing over 110 b/c one he knew he couldn't catch him by the time he got turned around and two it's to risky. If the guy freaks and runs and goes at a really high rate of sppen the risk of death is like nuts.
 
I was clocked doing 128MPH in a 65MPH freeway, I fighted the ticket, on the day of the court, the police officer didn't show up. I know why he didn't show up, I was polite and admitted fault when he pulled me over, be cool with the cop and they will be cool to you.
 
I've paid a little time at the local county jail. 14 days 7.5 hours to be exact. It's ****ty but not the end of the world. I didn't bother to read all 13 pages but I would imagine that you didn't serve time. My fine was less than yours. Live and learn as they say.
 
I can't wait until I'm a cop. :)
 
Virginia is very much a driver-unfriendly hell hole of a state. A buddy of mine got "speed contest on highway" even though there was no one else around.. just him in his supra.

thats not Im from way down south. And here in Fla I know my homeboy got pulled by a county sherriff on I-95. Someone called in on him for doing over 130 in a 70. When the cop caught him he ran his DL and let him because he never saw him doin that speed but before he did he asked how fast he was going and he told him 157. Ive also been pulled doin 48 in a 25 with my DL suspended and the cop let me drive away. So its not the south its the "commune" wealth of VA

Do not walk in there without representation. For 3500.00 you can definitely hire private council...most private council will let you pay them out...and a decent lawyer can do worlds of good.

I'm in court several times a month. I see people that appointed lawyers and those that pay for council. Those poor poor people that use appointed lawyers.

A good lawyer is worth any that you spend on them.

but this particular case, my speedo was actually off Due to larger tires put on. I have the dyno papers from the shop to take to court, and this should either A. reduce my ticket to the speed my instruments was telling me, or B. have the case thrown out according to the VA "failed instrument" Law. where the court just orders a fix-it ticket.
