it took my longnose i think 2 days to show the color he is now. he was a really pale color when i first got him. like everyone else has said give it a few days and its true color will show.

Thanks all. Looks a lot better already. At the LFS and when I first put it in, it would lay on the bottom, but now it floats in the plants and cruises around. None of the tankmates pay much attention to it. This fish looks so cool in this tank.
i beleive we have said enough about coloration and as jordan said watch the jaguar cichlid. try putting some bichirs with him.
just giving a suggestion incase he does decide to add more fish. cuz who knows he might post another thread or something asking about possible tankmates.

then i guess you want bichirs! they do make great tankmates for gar (as a general rule). the jag is up to you...if you trust it, that's your call. keep us updated on the gar.
