Ya, I'm really excited. Awesome addition to the tank. I'm planning on a bigger tank as soon as I buy a house.

im upgrading to but im not getting the final tank until me and my fiance get a house.
(shes the one that got me into this hobby)

Hehe when I got the fish tank the wife couldn't have cared less about the fish but now I catch her looking at them a lot. She denies it but I know she likes the fish :)

same here. im completely obsessed with fish and i know my fiance is she just wont admit it.

I tried some cut up market shrimp and tilapia filets tonight. It kept mouthing and spitting out a piece of shrimp, but ate a piece of tilapia. It only ate one piece, but it's a start. Looks healthy enough to not eat really well for a while. It's still doing great, swimming around and no wounds or split fins. The other fish don't seem to pay much attention to it.

good to hear the fish is doing good.

just another little update

The gar is still doing great and is not getting picked on at all. It still doesn't eat a ton, but it's eating shrimp now and eating more every time I feed it. It's so delicate when it picks up food from the bottom.

Mine won't eat off the bottom...snob :) He is pretty deliberate with eating, I think because he knows it can't get away. When I first had him and gave him some feeders (that's what he was eating in his previous home) he struck them very quickly.
