I'm hooked

What happened with the dats? Don't worry about its feeding habits yet. Some go on 'hunger strikes' for a while after being added or when stressed. Welcome to the best sub forum on mfk, by the way :p

Once your other two are comfortable they might start swimming around. After settling, activity levels, in my experience, have a great deal to do with the aquascape, number of tankmates, and amount of food they are consuming.

Good luck!

Lol have you even pellet trained dats that was a pain in the rear 4 months to get all 5 on pellets. The smaller poly started eating the moment they went in the tank the 8 inch del has yet to eat only been 2 weeks. My wife deals with all the tanks doing the week since I'm work nights plus 5 12 hour shifts a week. She likes the poly but the no eating is bugging her big time she got so mad with the days hiding she sold 4 of them for only 200 ranging from 6 to 9 1\2 inches.

Sold four of the dats? Sounds like someone got lucky.

I would separate the Del if it has been two weeks. At least until it begins to eat. What have you tried feeding it? I would experiment until you break the fast. Talapia is usually an easy sell. Same with bloodworms. You can sneak pellets into either with relative ease.

Yeah that man was lucky. Tried shrimp bloodworms raw fish and pellets he is out and about only a 6" dat and a 17" clown knife in a 125 with him. He hides with the knife when we are in the tank.

Separation is your best bet. I had to keep my koliba in a tank by herself for a few months for the same reason. She refused to eat for the first month in the grow out tank with a few similarly sized polys. She broke the fast on bloodworms and massivore the night I moved her. Once she was fattened up I returned her to the community and she has been eating readily since.

I plan on moving it this weekend. Shutting down the 125 so only keeping the dat and poly. Wife is hijacking that tank for saltwater. By the time the poly gets some size we should be moved then I can set up the bigger tank
