If you go to walmart etc.get a "live bait pump"the kind that hooks to a battery-hopefully you have a battery,if not buy a cheap lawn tractor one and then buy a big plastic tub or cooler as mentioned.hook the live bait pump up to the battery and submerge it in the tote/cooler with the water and it will circulate the water as well as give the fish bubbles for air and she/he will definitely survive.I didnt feel like reading this hole post so if its already been mentioned-oh well.goood luck

just realized youre in England-I dont think they got walmarts there but in any case-the giant tub sounds even better if you can find one and just net the fish-you wont hurt it,as long as his fins dont get caught up in it when he goes ape sh*ts on ya.Some cats just mellow out and lay there-you may get lucky.

i hope she dose lol :ROFL:

I dont mean tos ounds nasty but theres afew things you may need to consider.

If your getting a 40" round tub and the fish is 40" how can it move it will mess up its face

Have you got a large mature filter as somthing of that size will easily cause water quality problems and it could die.

Also how long is it before you have somthing bigger for it. I feel it maybe better in its current home.

Sprry for sounding critical

Thats a dam impressive catfish even a 5x5x30 sounds small for him a 12ftx5ftx3ft would be more like it but good luck moving him if decides hes not going to go quietly your gona have a right laugh, i use big towels when moving large fish net him bring him to the top and throw a big towel round hin it seems to calm them and gives you a much better grip. Id get a big plastic tub with a tight fitting lid then use an airator when he is being moved a fish that big will use up the oxygen in the water prety quickly, just a few ideas.
Again good luck with the move.
