I'm in some hot water !

Hot temps depend on the species you are going to keep. I had my tanks in the high 80* a few years back, I just made sure to have a ton of aeration, zero deaths during those summers.
Great idea about insulation that garage btw!

Yes that is true but if you drip 50% of your tank volume a day which only equals about 25 to 30% water change per day it should drop Temps drastically. I guess the way I look at it I would much rather play with a drip getting figured out how to adjust it to what Temps I want then spend huge amounts of money on a chiller. Or at least a tempt it.

Definitely would be worth a shot

A lot cheaper and hey if it doesn't work...m you have a drip system and there is no need for huge expensive units. I use (and know a few who use the same) Mastercraft home water purification units with carbon blocks and 5 micron filters... just waiting to get bashed for that one lol but AL in all is the same unit and does the same job
