Here comes my opinion.
yes those back grounds look awesome but the coco fiber eventually starts falling off and looking nasty.

It may have been a little too wet. How long did you let the silicone sit before you put the cocofiber on? Even a few minutes and it will start to form a dried layer and wont let the fiber stick to it.

If you use brown or black silicone the places that did not take wont show through as bad
 
you could also try to get it to stick with spray on glue. the stuff that people use to attached the head liners back on cars should work real well, i would think
 
try epoxy instead of silicon

I used the brown silicone and I think I let it sit too long before applying the coco fiber. I covered the whole back with silcone first (30"x25") and then placed the coco on it. I'm thinking it dried too much. My new plan is to bake the coco fiber so it's completely dry and then apply the silicone in small sections.

I don't know if either of these are 100% safe and non-toxic. I know that window and door silicone caulking is safe so I'm just going to stick with that.

once epoxy dries its like rubber.
