$50 is a great deal for that size but the problem is many people over price there stuff in my area so coming across a deal like that is a diamond in the rough

All depends who's selling it but usually can find 125-200 gallons for about $150-300 and up. A few years ago I got a 210 tank hoods and light for free. A guy was moving and couldn't take it. He was going to throw it away but I told him I would take it instead. So sometimes you can get lucky I've also found a few tanks that people thrown out ranging from 29-75 gallons. Since many people in my area over price their tanks and having only one Lfs that buys used stuff at really low prices people often just throw them out.

okay, such luck u had to get a 210 for free. and why do they overprice their tanks eventhough it's used ? desperate to get money perhaps?

A lot of people who put money into decent sized tanks think they will get what they paid but offend they don't. I search craigslist every once in a while and still see tanks that are over priced on there for months and never get bought

well, only 6 inches taller than mine.
If you understand how volume is calculated by multiplying the tank's width times its height times its length you would understand that a 6" difference from 12-18 would mean the tank has quite a lot more space than your tank. That's why a tank 48x24x18 is only 6 inches taller than a tank 48x24x12 but that's 90 G vs 60 G.

yeah of course i know about tht. it's weird though when only 6" difference can give a 30g difference.

If nothing else, fiberglass the thing and use it for a sump. The dimensions are prefect.
