have you guys ever heard of sodium theophospate, prime, amquel, or similiar product? The reaction occurs on contact, stir to increase surface area. Takes out chlorine and chloramine instantly. All thats water aging stuff is old school. Get some prime and put fish in those aging tanks.

what's wrong with old school :D, that's cheapest and chemical free..I know, I'm just a cheap @$$ :banhim:

nothing I guess. I'm just so impatient I want dechlored water when I want it. Plus theres tons of chloramines in the h20 in DC (along with prozac, dead bodies, antibiotics, trace elements like lead, cadmium, arsenic etc but i digress) and chloramines take longer to dissipate.

if you put an air stone in it to break surface that will help speed up the process.

i use those products but i wait a day before i add the water i also have a small over head to break the surface in my 50g aging tank

Yeah, I have no patience for aging water. I just walked into a hella deal. I went to Lowes and happened to go by the pond supplies. They had Jungle Labs dechlorinator in the 16 oz bottles on clearance from $8.95 to $4.94. I bought 15 bottles and when they rang up, they rang up @ $2.92. I went back and bought the remaining 32 bottles.

I should be set for a few months now...

should check if they had more in the back and empty their warehouse, then you can be a jungle lab dechlorinator vendor here

Yeah, the way I see it I'm set for the next year at least. I went to another local store and they had sold out. I was just thinking I should go back and check with a mamager to see if they had more in the back.
I don't know if it's a national, regional or just local thing but they had all kinds of similar deals on pond chemicals and test kits. They had the strip testers for Nitrate/Nitrite/Ammonia for $4.94 also and they may have very well rang up at $2.92 as well.

honesty I never thought of check out pond supply at lowes for those stuff...maybe next time when i need something I'll check out there
oh, ohio, how frequent you dose your tank with parasite meds?

I've never really shopped Lowes for aquarium supplies either. I've been looking for a good deal on biomedia and just happened to think they might have a large amount cheaper than the fish shops.

I've only treated my tanks the one time that I mentioned. I did my Sanchezi and Piraya tanks and the glass was full of those ''worms." I did my Natt's tank and saw nothing in terms of such worms. My buddy suggested I treat them every 6 months or so.

that's what I was thinking..will dose the tank again few months later as I feed them sunfish and bass I caught from fishing (i cut them up and freeze them first), just want to make sure my rhom is clean
