You guys are lucky lol. it was 20 here 13 now.

it sucks bad here in New York. It was 60 degrees on Friday and today it was in the 20's and it snowed. But power outages are very rare here. You should buy a UPS(uninterpretable power supply) to keep your mind a peace during outages.

I always put a candle under the tank and let my two little ones blow through a straw into the tank all night. Seems to work. Haha.

Very cool they survived.

I would be concerned about my BB in filters as my understanding is that 2 hours without oxygenated water and they start to die off,I would keep an eye on your parameters just in case of a small spike.
But lucky you did not loose any fish.
I had a heater fail on me over xmas last year,we were away at realtives, and the tank went down to around 55 and the only thing I lost was a pleco,I suppose i should be grateful it did not stick on or I would have lost the lot.

We once had a ice storm at our house that killed the power and the inside of the house dropped to 35F for two days and my Goldfish went into a strange state of suspended aninmation when the inside temp got to 30's. When the power came back on and the tank warmed up after a day the fish got back to normal swimming around the tank un harmed.
