I am not a religious person at all- I don't believe in a higher power/being nor do I find the bible something to take literally. I do find it's great for some moral stories, but that's about all..

This thread is not to offend anyone, but all these die offs in the wild are really freaking me out..

Below is a portion of revelations, and I have added what I think some events are in correlation to some of the events. As well as a list of all the mass die offs/oddities we have had in 2010 alone.

Yellow is things that I think would be easiest to come about next.

  1. The Angels Sound the Trumpets
    1. First Trumpet: Hail and fire destroy a third of the trees and grass. (8:6-7) California Wild Fires
    2. Second Trumpet: A third of the oceans are destroyed. (8:8-9) Current fish die off on MD coast/ crabs in UK
    3. Third Trumpet: A third of the rivers and springs are poisoned. (8:10-11) Current fish die of in Mid West state
    4. Fourth Trumpet: A third of the sky is darkened. (8:12-13) Mass die off of red wing black birds in mid west, and finches in china
    5. Fifth Trumpet: A plague of "locusts" terrorize the Earth for five months. (9:1-12)
    6. Sixth Trumpet: An army of 200 million kills a third of Earth's population. (9:13-21)
      1. John eats a little book which is sweet in his mouth, but bitter in his stomach. (10:1-11)
      2. Two witnesses prophesy for 3½ years, are killed, and come back to life. (11:1-14)
    7. Seventh Trumpet: The ark of the covenant appears in the heavenly temple. (11:15-19)
      1. John sees a woman clothed with the sun, the moon, and the stars. (12:1-6)
      2. Satan is cast down to the Earth. (12:7-12)
      3. The dragon persecutes the people of God. (12:13-17)
      4. The beast from the sea makes war with the people of God. (13:1-10) Hurricanes?
      5. The beast from the land forces people to worship the beast from the sea. (13:11-18)
      6. John sees 144,000, "having his Father's name written on their foreheads," with the Lamb on Mount Zion. (14:1-5)
      7. Three angels proclaim judgment. (14:6-13)
      8. The angels reap the harvest. (14:14-20)
  2. The Angels Pour Out Their Bowls on the Earth
    1. Seven angels are given golden bowls containing of the wrath of God. (15:1-8)
    2. First Bowl: A "foul and loathsome sore" afflicts the followers of the beast. (16:1-2)
    3. Second Bowl: The sea turns to blood and everything within it dies. (16:3)
    4. Third Bowl: All fresh water turns to blood. (16:4-7)
    5. Fourth Bowl: The sun scorches the Earth with intense heat. (16:8-9)
    6. Fifth Bowl: There is total darkness and great pain in the Beast's kingdom. (16:10-11)
    7. Sixth Bowl: Preparations are made for the final battle between the forces of good and evil. (16:12-16)

It's really easy to find matches. Unless things match exactly, word for word, then it's just coincidence. For example, the first passage calls for both fire AND hail, not to mention it didn't destroy a third of all the trees and grass, not even close.

It's more important to try to fix the problems we have now, than to worry over something as unlikely as the end of the world, as predicted by the bible.

I don't believe in coincidence... Everything has got to have a reason, or why would it happen?

Kinda like the Butterfly Affect. Where something you do affects someone out there tremendously.

Randomness is very possible and is how the universe works, yes everything must follow the laws of physics but everything is def not linked. Our brains are wired to find reason/a pattern in events in which we do not completely understand. So in thinking that everything happens for a reason is just your brains attempt to answer a question beyond our understanding

You sound as one who believs in faith. Not throwing you under the bus, this is america after all...
However most of the things you have listed are natural occurances, and in recent years have just been amped up so to speak. Drought in the amazon, is a seasonal event. Beached whales, same thing has happened for years... Wild fires in california are also a natural occurance, infact without fires some native species of plants would be decimated or other to thrive in an excessive manor.

You're missing the point. You're mainly focusing on the animal kingdom What about all of the issues involving mankind? Besides, you're an atheist. How can a true atheist use the bible as a source to make his point?

I am not anything. I don't follow any set of "rules" that would categorize me into any specific label.

I consider myself non-religious; if I was religious- atheism would fall into that.

And I'm a she.
