the same people who teased me when I was younger about my pet likes and habits are now the same people who call me whenever they have a pet problem.. or question about getting a new pet. this one or thats ones kids want a tank... gerbils or hamsters better pets?.. my dogs doing this... they know I don't know everything.. but I'll stear 'em in the right direction. It's kinda nice, the teaseing shifted to a form of respect.

Don't let those type of people bother you. Give them a cheap 10g fish tank for their bday or something. Then you sit back and watch their addiction grow and before long they'll have a tank bigger than yours. Then you can both sit back and just talk about fish.

I've had people make jokes about having a giant fish tank and spending over one hundred dollars on a fish... Until they actually look at the tank and cant stop staring.

Most of my friends actually enjoy looking at fish, just not into keeping them... but for those who have made jokes about my tanks, they stopped right after seeing it the first time, and some even come over just to see how all my fish are doing...
