Imperial Loaches

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No don't think so...it looked perfect no scars torn fins anything like that...it was covered in like a white film..
Unfortunately I lost the 2nd one today, just got off of work to find him belly up...

I've had them for 2yrs and they may have put an inch on since I've had them.

Should have just left them in there own tank :(...

Sorry about this. But, you've helped us out with these losses. Maybe they just get very stressed from a lack of hiding space, and we all know that loaches slough off the thick slime coat when stressed. I bought a 8" Royal 1.5 yrs ago, killed it during a water change. Stupid! Bought another at 6", got it on pellets and it hides 24/7 in the dark end of my tank. Still, a beautiful species, best combo of a Clown loach and Tigrinus w/o the outgoing personality. Get another, and just let it age like wine.

Love those loaches! I feel your pain. A drunk knocked down a power pole again and I lost 2 @ about 8" and 3 catlo carp @ over a foot. Hopefully Wes will bring in more. Mine were in warmer water than I wanted, and noticed they did better and were more active in lower temps.

Edit. Just saw you lost the other one. Damn

I got my 6" from my LFS, they gets lots of weird oddballs. Not bad price either, $60. About 8 months ago.
