The way I see it is if the world didn’t want me to have the fish they wouldn’t let me on that site or in that store, the world wants me to buy that fish

Got her cornered now!nah if i buy something and the wifes not happy with it i just say one of the kids picked the fish
Lol you do know that all catfish are venomous to some extent right? Just some more so then others. All of em that I know of have a mild nerotoxin in their spines which is designed to cause a long lasting throbbing pain. Least to say it's painful no matter how shallow the wound they cause is. Had it once where a bullhead stuck me in the side of my knuckle all the way down to the bone, that wound ached and throbbed for over 4 hours straight before the pain finally started to subside.Great thread idea!!!
Leiocassis siamensis. I had no clue that they were venomous. I got stung and it wasn’t fun. A wasp sting is a walk in the park compared to these guys. I gave them away for free. Gorgeous fish, though.

Lol them bad boys hurt. Had one once where I was moving him into a new tank and he pinched my thumb in-between his body and spine. Then to make matters worse he started to thrash around sawing that spine into me slowly. Granted their venom is pretty weak compaired to most catfish that I've been stung buy. Lol even Cory cats have worse venom. As I read this, I’m looking at my 4 inch raphael happy that he is my most dangerous catfish. ?
Venom needs to be injected, so as long as it doesn't break skin it won't harm you.what about pictus cats? ive been grazed by mine but never broke skin
