In northern Columbia near Santa Marta. Off to a swimmable river tomorrow to see if I can get some habitat shots. The few creeks near where I am today don't look promising, bit too stagnant, and maybe brackish.

Staying at a large resort near Tayrona National Park, on a northern Caribbean coastal beach, the Don Diego River is tomorrows stop, and is part of the Magdalena river system, where Umbis and Geophagus steindachneri are said to be found, along with tetras, catfish and many others.
The resort is nice without being ostentatious
Conversion rate is 2700 pesos per $1. A meal for 2 with beef entrees, a shrimp appetizer, and half dozen beers, was less than $35 at the resort, not bad at all.
