Deep breath...Glad to hear everything has wrkd out so far. NICE CALL on the garbage bags I never would have though of that. Gona have to save that one in the just in case file in the back of my head. Looking forward to an update!!

Well I have really bad news today… They all survived and were doing really well after the first spray. Unfortunately they did another spray and I had the tank covered the same way but when I got home they had really chemical bombed my condo as the neighbors had not gotten better. When I got home even after 12 hours there was still wet chemical on the garbage bags. I dried it all off and looked inside and everything was dead. I lost 2 marbled motoro’s, 1 pleco and 4 discus. I have started on removing everything from the tank as it will all probably have the chemical on it. Filter media will be thrown out and new stuff will be ordered.

It is kind of interesting how it only now has crossed my mind how much it would cost to get the tank back up and going and the cost of more rays. I loved them and I can’t imagine life without rays now. I will be waiting a few months but if anyone has any rays they want to sell me for cheap let me know.

unbelievable!!! So sorry for your loss. Can you recoup any of the loss from the company or from the owners of the buildings? Maybe homeowners or renters insurance? I would be sooooo pissed!!!

That's bs I would put this to your association. Spraying chemicals in homes was there choice it is a cheap and less effective then heat treatment. Also they left a harmful amount of chemical if they was puddles of stuff I would be kicking and screaming. I am extremely sorry for your loss.

yeah, i would definitely go at the company that owns the apartment complex, as well as the company that did the spraying. i'm sure they were aware you had your tanks, precautions should have been taken for it, and it's their fault the fish are dead. it was their choice and left you with no say in the matter.

If you didnt have the bugs in your apt. then why the heck would they spray in your personal apt. like that?!?? Thats unacceptable! I would be jumping up and down on someones desk over that crap!
Sorry for the rant and your loss. That is what, an easy 1K or more to replace? Not to mention the time and money raising rare fish. Problem is, in an apt. complex, the problem will return most likely. Too bad you cant get a small house on a concrete slab so this is not an issue in the future.

Sorry for your loss, but that really sucks... personally i would NEVER let any one fumigate my flat just because my neighbors had problems with bed bugs...

If you want me to fumigate my flat, i'll bomb the place myself when i'm good and ready... but if i was forced into it... i'd make sure they signed a contract stating that they would pay for any damages / losses from the spraying...

Incase you haven't noticed by my tone, yes, i've had to deal with P.I.T.A neighbors on one too many occasions...
